Issue with Grants E-mail Notifications - 9-25-09
- The Compass Team has identified an issue with approvers not receiving e-mail notification when a proposal is ready for approval in EPEX. Until the issue is resolved, please log into Compass directly and navigate to your approval inbox to review any items requiring your attention.

Status of ChartField Requests - 9-14-09
- The Compass Team is currently processing the ChartField Requests received since September 1. We have received a number of requests and are working through them as quickly as possible. You will be notified when your request is completed. We ask for your patience, as it may take up to 15 business days (after the request is received) to complete the request.

Issues with the Expense Report/Payment Request E-mail Approval Link - 9-9-09
- The Compass Help Desk has received reports that the link in the expense report or payment request approval e-mail is not working correctly. Until the issue is fixed, please log into PeopleSoft directly and navigate to your approval inbox. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Dual SmartKeys for some Grants Projects - 9-7-09
- In FAS, the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGCA) reused account numbers to remain within the grant and contract range of accounts (5-20000-5-29999, 6-37000-6-39999, and 6-47000-6-47999). Generally, the accounts were reused two years after being frozen and in delete status. Unfortunately, OGCA had to reuse 88 FAS accounts sooner than expected. This resulted in activity from the oldest account number showing up in PeopleSoft when searching by the current FAS account number to find the new Compass project number and SmartKey.
- The oldest project number is shown in the format of GXXXXXX0. The SmartKey associated with this project number has been INACTIVATED. The latest and current project number is in the form of GXXXXXX3 and ends with "3." If you have dual SmartKeys for the same project, use the project number that ends with "3." If you have any questions call Ron Thompson at 7-4289 or the Compass Help Desk at 7-7000.

Employees are entering "practice" transactions in Compass - 9-4-09
- Users are entering "practice" transactions in the Compass system. Compass is a real system and transactions cannot be deleted. DO NOT enter "practice" transactions in the system. If you have any questions about entering transactions, please refer to Training web pages or contact compass@emory.edu.

Multiple SmartKeys replaced a FAS account - 9-4-09
- If Compass lists two SmartKeys for the one FAS account you used before, the Program and/or Event ChartField is probably being used to provide more detail. If you do not need the detail, e-mail a request to delete the SmartKey with the extra information to compass@emory.edu.

Use of obsolete SmartKeys - 9-2-09
- The Compass Help Desk has received reports of processing errors due to the use of obsolete SmartKeys. Please verify you are using valid SmartKeys (effective 9/1/09) to process your financial transactions. Click here to verify and download your current SmartKeys.

Close FY09 Transactions in FAS - 9-2-09
- Remember to close FY09 transactions in FAS. Use Compass to create and initiate FY10 transactions. If you entered any FY09 transactions in Compass, e-mail the Controller's Office for assistance (ctrl@emory.edu).
