What is the Project Compass Cutover?
A cutover process transfers existing data and functionality from one set of information systems to another. In a way, Project Compass has been engaged in cutover-type activities from the beginning; however, the ultimate cutover process will occur in association with Go-Live. The steps in the cutover process are designed to ensure that the converted data and tested functionality of Emory's entire PeopleSoft Financials suite are available to the Emory community September 1, 2009.
Cutover Cycles
In preparation for the actual Cutover at the end of August, the Project Compass team will conduct a series of Dry Runs. These exercises will identify all tasks required, ensure they are performed in the correct order, and provide insights about timing. So, in total, four cutover cycles are planned:
- Dry Run 1
- Dry Run 2
- Dry Run 3
- Go-Live
